Biography of the Artist
Sade One’s passion for graffiti began in Paris at the young age of 15.
Recognized for his talent early on, he steadily built a reputation within the city.
Initially tagging under the name Sade and later Desa (a play on Sade spelled backward), he eventually moved to Switzerland in 1989 to further develop his craft.
Regarded as one of the first hardcore graffiti bombers in the country, he remains actively engaged in street art, trains, and galleries to this day.
He is considered one of the pioneers of the Swiss graffiti scene.
After earning a master's degree in communication, Sade transitioned into graphic design and subsequently became an art director across various industries, including music, fashion, and film.
He then established a design company in Paris, which operated for approximately ten years. During this period, his firm produced books on fashion, album covers, advertising campaigns, logos, typography, and layouts for diverse clients. Each project bore Sade’s signature style, characterized by originality and a distinct line of visual expression.
To this day, graphic design remains a significant influence on his artistic work.
Beyond design, Sade expanded his creative talents into the film industry, contributing to the production of the film Five Thirteen in Los Angeles, where his main actors was Danny Trejo, Tom Sizemore, Bookeem Woodbine, and others.
All these experiences and influences have shaped his unique style, which seamlessly blends street culture, graphic design, and communication principles.
Currently, Sade is actively showcasing his work through a series of exhibitions across Europe, including:
Urban Art Fair, Paris
La Foire de Lille
Green Flower Gallery, Paris
The Secret Gallery, Paris
Samhart Galerie, Switzerland
Galerie Francis Noel, Belgium
Artraction, Geneva
Modernity Cruise, Italy
Over the years, Sade developed an innovative art style that embodies his graffiti roots while incorporating a contemporary perspective suitable for canvas and sculpture. His goal was to transition graffiti from the wall into three-dimensional forms, adding depth and volume.
His canvas work reflects his graphic design background, often featuring strong, well-composed images with a clear sense of layout. His latest series explores themes related to electronic DJs, created in collaboration with photographer Andrei Thchernaief.
Each piece in this series combines three images to form a cohesive composition, depicting international DJs such as Luciano, Seth Troxler, and Ricardo Villalobos.
Additionally, Sade is currently developing a new project centered around his character of a duck, which has been receiving significant attention. This character is evolving into a major creative endeavor, with plans for future exhibitions and collaborations.
